Order types
In stock means the specified goods are available for fulfillment, not necessarily same-day dispatch. Special order means sourced from a vendor for the customer. Built to order means actual manufacture or assembly to the agreed specification after ordering. The quote identifies the type; sourcing a hood or used component alone is not manufacture.
Preparation, shipment and arrival
Many special orders have an approximate 3–4 week overall fulfillment and delivery estimate. It is not universal. Before payment we provide a supported ship-by date and a separate transit/arrival estimate. Dispatch means handing your goods to the outbound carrier, not creating a label or receiving inbound parts.
Sourcing may be domestic or international. Vendor availability, actual manufacturing/assembly, inbound transport, customs, preparation and domestic freight can affect timing. We do not claim every item is US-sourced or assembled in California. Destinations outside the continental USA require individual time and freight estimates, not a guaranteed extra week.
Shipment deadlines and delays
Under the applicable FTC merchandise rule, an unstated shipping period is generally 30 days. The clock starts when the properly completed order and required payment/information are received, including an accepted partial payment—not merely when funds clear.
If shipment will miss the promised date, we notify you by that deadline with a revised date, or the reason no date is available, and offer cancellation of unshipped goods for a full, prompt refund. Our process requests affirmative agreement rather than treating silence as consent. Without agreement by the response deadline, we cancel and refund as required. Additional delays require renewed notice and consent. You may cancel an agreed indefinite delay before shipment. Vendor/customs problems do not remove these duties.
Freight and delivery responsibilities
Your quote confirms address, freight price, residential or commercial service, liftgate, limited access, appointments and unloading requirements. Provide a reachable phone number and accurate access details. Confirm equipment or assistance needed before paying. Transit and appointment dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed; avoid booking installation solely on those estimates.
Any customer-caused redelivery, storage or address-change charge must have a lawful contractual basis and be explained with documented costs. No undisclosed automatic penalty is imposed. Contact us if delivery is unsafe or cannot be completed.
Visible and concealed damage
Where safe and permitted, inspect packaging at arrival, photograph damage and note visible damage/shortages on the delivery receipt. For serious damage, contact us and the carrier about next steps. Do not sign an inaccurate statement that you inspected concealed contents.
Unpack and inspect promptly. Report delivery issues preferably within 48 hours and concealed damage/defects promptly after discovery. Preserve parts, packaging and photos. The 48-hour request supports evidence collection, not automatic forfeiture of legal rights. A clean delivery signature does not by itself defeat a concealed-damage claim. See Returns & Refunds.
